Wagyu Beef Thai Steak Salad with Viognier (pick up)

This Thai steak salad is refreshing and flavorful, pretty low calorie, and treaty at the same time. The salad has lettuce, red cabbage, cucumber, red peppers, shallots, lemongrass, garlic, ginger, jalapeno, lime juice, and fish sauce. It’s bursting with flavor and is just slightly spicy. The steak is Mishima Reserve American Wagyu, New York Strip.

This full bodied, aromatic white wine pairs wonderfully with the Thai steak salad. The salad reads surprisingly “light” even with the marbled Wagyu beef. This 100% Viognier has delicate floral notes with peach, citrus and a flinty minerality. The wine is beautiful with the lemongrass, ginger, lime juice sauce in the salad. The wine improves the meal, and the meal improves the wine. Just as a great pairing should be.
