Château d’Esclans Rosé Dinner

Description

Château d’Esclans Rosé Dinner
Saturday, April 23, 6 – 9 pm
$175 per person
Please RSVP right away if you’d like to attend. We had many people
unable to come to the tasting in February, so we decided to repeat this
fantastic tasting dinner now that Covid rates are down.
This is a rare opportunity to taste four premium Rosé wines
all from the same winery in Provence, France, some of them
sell for well over $100 a bottle. They are spectacular wines.
Fennel and Citrus Cured Salmon layered with Fleur Vert, Cucumber Salad and Kaluga Caviar
Whispering Angel: Made from Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino), its pale color is pleasing to the eye and draws one in. The rewarding taste profile is full and lush while being bone dry with a smooth finish.
Hamachi Carpaccio with Lemon Oil,
Creme Fraiche and Russian Caviar Border
Rock Angel: Partially barrel fermented in large oak barrels and made from
Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle (Vermentino). This rosé bears a more complex and structured taste profile than Whispering Angel bringing it into a more premium realm giving rosé lovers a bigger and richer wine that is fabulous as an aperitifor paired with a broad range of fine cuisine.
If you like the minerality of a Sancerre, you will love this wine.
Ahi Tuna Tartare with Avocado and Butter Lettuce
Les Clans: Epitomizing a sophisticated, food driven wine made from Grenache and Rolle (Vermentino), Les Clans (entirely fermented and aged in largeFrench oak barrels) represents a particular disconnect with rosé in general as it is quite remarkable with potential to age or, if tempted, to enjoy with great pleasure sooner rather than later. This wine is both rich and exotic
while being full bodied and elegant.
Crostini Stack of Jamon Iberico, Apple,
Black Truffle Foie Gras Terrine and a Spoon of Golden Russian Caviar
Garrus: Considered Château d’Esclans’ finest wine, Garrus is made from a single vineyard of nearly 100 year-old Grenache vines, and from Rolle (Vermentino). Entirely fermented and aged in new large French oak barrels for 11 months, the powerful and elegant Garrus was at the heart to Sacha Lichine’s vision in 2006 to make rosé grand. Today Garrus is firmly established as a world class, iconic luxury rosé. It is an impressive and concentrated rosé with a creamy finish featuring rich and spicy notes rivaling any top white wine or prestige Champagne.
Chällerhocker Cheese Soufleé
Les Clans (back to the 3rd wine for dessert)
