Description
Bordeaux from Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux, France
An exceptionally structured red wine from Pessac-Léognan Château Carbonnieux is a Grand Cru Classé in the Pessac-Léognan appellation. The red wine is produced among the 52 hectares planted with red grape varieties, the cultivation of the vines being carried out in a sustainable way. Aging is carried out in Bordeaux barrels (30% of which are new wood), for 15 to 18 months depending on the vintage. The 2016 is notably made from a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.
With a pretty intense red color, dense and purplish, Château Carbonnieux 2016 has benefited from an ideal concentration of grapes, which reveal a magnificent texture in the mouth and a large and frank aromatic expression on the nose. This racy wine and full on the mid-palate – without any aggressiveness – does not lack roundness and elegance.
