Joseph Drouhin Vaudon Chablis Bougros Grand Cru 2017

Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy, France

Tasting note by Véronique Boss-Drouhin:

“A delicate and ample wine, easy to appreciate. The pale yellow color is very pure, with light green reflections. On the nose, floral aromas of acacia harmonize with vegetal notes of fern and coriander. he aromas on the nose are amplified when the wine is in the mouth, together with new notes of orange or lemon marmalade. It has a soft, round, well balanced body. The aromas of fruit are enhanced by intense mineral notes evolving towards a slightly smoky flavour. Beautiful length on the aftertaste”.

Winemaker Notes:
A dry and fruity wine, easy to drink. Its colour is pale gold with greenish hues. Very fresh aromas reminiscent of citrus (lemon or grapefruit); small pleasant touches of fern or coriander are found as well. On the palate, dry and fruity, with mineral notes. Pleasant and long aftertaste.

Very small harvest but very nice grapes with excellent maturity, higher degrees of alcohol and levels of acidity than normal. The 2017 wines are lively and mineral. They express a nice freshness on notes of white flowers and white fleshed-fruits. They are very delicate. 2017 promises excellent wines.
