Spicy Mushroom Lasagna with Grilled Vegetable Salad : Thursday, March 4th, 4:30 – 6 pm pick up

This lasagne is made with a combination of fresh and dried wild mushrooms. The complex, earthy, and deeply umami flavor of dried porcini and chanterelle mushrooms give the dish exciting flavor. The dish has dried red chilis, but it’s not overly spicy at all. There’s very little cheese in this lasagne, just a touch of our best Parmigiano-Reggiano. The Spicy Mushroom Lasagna is served with a colorful salad of grilled vegetables.

Pinot Noir is a natural pairing with anything containing mushrooms. Since this dinner doesn’t have a sweet sauce or any fruit elements, we paired two French Burgundy wines with the meal. The Collet is a lean and relatively light bodied Pinot Noir, which opens up considerably once opened. The Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny is a more complex Pinot Noir with darker fruit and notes of truffle. It’s a real treat!

$29.99 per person for dinner

Add Cheese Course Appetizer or Dessert for two – $24.99

Cheese Course Option (to enjoy before or after your meal):  We will select three cheeses (cow, sheep and/or goat milk) of varying styles, one charcuterie item, and both sweet and savory accompaniments, fresh sliced baguette or crackers.

Recommended Wine Pairings:

Joseph Drouhin Chambolle-Musigny 2017 $91.99

Winemaker Notes:

Fine lace and silk are the words most often associated with this wine. Bright, intense color and complex aromas evoking violet, black cherry, and damp earth. According to the vintages, there are also notes of truffle and game. Refined tannins coat the palate. Good balance between texture and acidity. Long aftertaste, with notes of cherry and candied fruit.

Romain Collet “Les Vaux de L’Aumône” Bourgogne Rouge 2016 $30.99

The 2016 vintage is “a seriously delicious vintage.” We agree and recommend jumping on board while we have this rarity in stock!

Red raspberry, star anise and spiced cherries jump out immediately; after decanting a whiff of freshly-tanned leather starts to emerge. The best Burgundy have a hint of what they call sous-bois – French for “forest floor.” This Bourgogne has a delightful hint of that woodsiness and soft earth.
